Experience abroad

Manuel Rösner, who holds a bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, studied for one semester at the Politehnica University of Bucharest.

“My time abroad was already curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic. Even so, I had the time of my life. I can clearly refute the negative stereotypes often levelled at Eastern European countries. Romania has a great deal to offer in terms of scenery, and I’ve also grown to love the city of Bucharest. I can’t recommend the country and the city highly enough to everyone.”

Caroline Baumeister, from Technical Communications, spent a year studying in Lisbon.

"My year in Portugal was one of the best experiences of my life. I really immersed myself in Portuguese culture and always looked forward to my courses because they were so much fun. I also made some great friends from all over the world."

Korbinian Hübner studied at Pusan National University in South Korea.

"My time in Korea was a wonderful experience. It’s just a shame it was only one semester. It wasn’t just a chance for me to grow personally: my degree subject, Technical Communication, is all about explaining complex topics as simply as possible. And in Korea, I realised just how important it is to have well-organised information."

Teodora Petrovic is studying Technical Communication and spent a semester at the University of Bologna.

"I’d always wanted to learn Italian, so I was delighted to be able to spend my inter-faculty semester abroad in Bologna. To prepare for this, I took Italian 1 (A1) and Italian 2 (A2) as elective subjects beforehand, which I’d recommend to anyone. In Bologna, I met students from all over the world and discovered new cultures, and had an unforgettable time."
