The Department's Profile

Practically-oriented teaching

Thanks to our teaching staff, comprising of 42 professors and a large number of lecturers from industry and research, our students are prepared for the demands of the professional world. Our degree programmes are characterised by a high proportion of internships, field trips and close links with industry, facilitated by regular company and specialist presentations.

Applied Research

Applied Research plays a central role at the Department of Technical Systems, Processes and Communication: academic staff members are currently conducting research and pursuing doctorates through cooperative doctorates or as part of the cooperative research training group. In addition, numerous research studies and projects are being carried out at the department. Department 05 is also home to a research institute and an affiliated institute.

Strong cooperation partners

We have an excellent network of regional and international companies. Many projects and knowledge-transfer initiatives are carried out in collaboration with industrial partners, and a number of degree programmes have also been developed in partnership with leading companies in the sector. Our students benefit from personal contacts with prominent industry representatives even whilst they are still studying.
